Assembly and Performance Hall, Benenden School

Overview

In the spring of 2016, HMY was invited to put forward
proposals for a 850 seat new school hall as part of a
invited architectural competition.

The scheme also incorporated a long term development
masterplan of the Music School including a recital room
and teaching spaces.

The proposal looked at replacing the existing facilities in a
phased development centred around a new courtyard.
The new hall, to be used for school assemblies and
music performances, was set at the front of the campus
next to the original house within its historic parkland
setting. The hall provided a flexible space for worship,
music and events designed to underpin Benenden
School’s international reputation.
