A New Teaching Block for St Edmund’s School

Overview

These new teaching facilities are the first phase of a new ‘academic hub’, the completion of which will define a landscaped courtyard and provide a new public face for the school. The completed building provides seven classrooms, a mathematics studio, toilets and storage facilities over 2.5 storeys.

The choice of materials on the new development reflects those of the original Grade II Listed Victorian Gothic school, thereby providing continuity of scale, colour and tone. The school estate exhibits buildings of disparate styles and materials, the completion of the new teaching block marking the beginning of a process to restore the visual integrity of the school.
