Oxted Community Hall/
HMY Winners At LABC South East Building Excellence Awards 2009
Hazle McCormack Young were executive architects for The Oxted Community Hall project which has been successful in winning the Prestigious Awards for Local Building Projects at LABC South East Building Excellence Awards. Designed to complement existing buildings, the brief included the use of green materials where possible and a hall cost effective to run. Developed by Farnrise Construction the team worked proactively with Mark Simpson of Tandridge's Building Control team.
In the citation the LABC committee stated "The new building is a popular and vital addition to Oxted and a vast improvement on the previous hall, in visual, functional and environmental terms."

St Gregory's Music Centre/
Canterbury Christ Church University Fundraising Concert
Stephen Coomber, the Partner in charge and Danka Stephan, the Project Architect, were introduced to HRH Princess Alexandra at a fundraising concert for the new St Gregory's for Music project on 5 October 2009. The concert was held in the Chapel, Canterbury Christ Church University and was performed by the Sacconi String Quartet accompanied by members of the Shipton family. Issie Coomber and Gordon Young were also presented to the Princess at this "absolutely stunning evening of music."
The project, which is hoped to be completed in 2012, "is a ground breaking initiative that will change the face of music in Kent through the creation of a centre for music and music education"
