Holmewood House School/
Phase 1 School Redevelopment
Demolition of temporary existing classrooms at Holmewood House School has begun to make room for the development of the new teaching block. This build will include 12 modern, well-equipped classrooms which will further enhance the learning environment. We anticipate this to be open ready for September 2011.

Frant Primary School/
New Primary School Takes Shape
The new single story development will provide sustainable accommodation for a half form entry primary school which has a capacity for 105 pupils, and allow for up to 12 teaching staff. The project is due for completion December 2010.

Tunbridge Wells Rugby Club/
Phase 1 And 2 Complete
On 31 August 2010 the refurbishment and extension to provide a new and refurbished changing facilities for the Kent based sports facility were completed on time and the first match of the season took place on Saturday 4 September. Part funded by the RFU, this facility is now one of the best in Kent. Phase 3, will consist of a first floor clubhouse extension which will provide additional social and ancillary facilities, to allow both the cricket and rugby clubs to progress.

New House Camber/
Gets Planning Approval
Planning Consent has been granted by Rother District Council for this new beach house in Camber.
The house has been orientated to take advantage of the spectacular views out to sea and to Fairlight cliffs, but at the same time preserve the privacy of the neighbours and owners. The main living spaces are located on the first floor and will have a column free glass corners. The ‘v’ shaped plan allows for a sheltered deck and terrace areas slightly set back from the beach. There will also be a second floor ‘look out’ study space.
HMY are working with Kent firms Colin Toms (structural engineers) and PCS Consulting (environmental engineers).

Brambletye School/
Shortlisted, Downland Prize 2010
The 7 new additional senior classrooms, known as The Blencowe building, has been shortlisted for this year’s RIBA Downland Prize. The building was opened on 22 October 2009.

Frant Primary School/
Granted Planning Consent
The proposals for a new half form entry primary school in Frant, near Tunbridge Wells were approved by East Sussex County Council on 1 March 2010.
As part of ESCC Primary Capital Programme, the new single story school will provide accommodation for 105 pupils. Part of the new development will include a multi-purpose hall and ICT suite, the most prominent and distinctive part of the scheme is the gentle curving classroom block.
The building is set to go on site in April 2010

Windchimes Children’s Centre/
Success At The Kent Design Awards
On 16 March Windchimes Children’s Resource Centre, a centre for disabled children from East Kent, was awarded a “Highly Commended” recognition in the extremely competitive Public Building (schools) Category at the 2010 Kent Design Awards.

The Bridge Learning & Community Campus/
Grand Opening
It is a first for Kent and was formally opened yesterday (Tuesday 16 March) by Kevin Lynes Chair of the Kent Thameside Board, leader of Dartford Borough Council Jeremy Kite and Wayne Hemingway. The campus includes a primary school, nursery, healthcare and social services facilities, as well a small sports hall, youth and adult education centres, community room all under one roof for those living and working on the 264 acre site in Dartford.

Burnt Oak Junior School/
New School Extension
A new development at Burnt Oak Junior School in Bexley was completed on programme. This single story extension consists of a new sports hall facility, 2 new classrooms with associated storage, a multi-purpose classroom with storage, new wc facilities and general support space. It was officially opened on 16 Dec 2009 by Leader of the Council and the children created a song, poems and a stage production to celebrate their new buildings. They all love it, especially the sports hall and the size of the new classrooms compared to the existing building

Oxted Community Hall/
HMY Winners At LABC South East Building Excellence Awards 2009
Hazle McCormack Young were executive architects for The Oxted Community Hall project which has been successful in winning the Prestigious Awards for Local Building Projects at LABC South East Building Excellence Awards. Designed to complement existing buildings, the brief included the use of green materials where possible and a hall cost effective to run. Developed by Farnrise Construction the team worked proactively with Mark Simpson of Tandridge's Building Control team.
In the citation the LABC committee stated "The new building is a popular and vital addition to Oxted and a vast improvement on the previous hall, in visual, functional and environmental terms."
